Overview

ETC Institute specializes in the design and administration of market research for governmental organizations. Our major areas of emphasis include customer satisfaction surveys, community planning surveys, transportation surveys, employee surveys, voter opinion surveys, parks and recreation surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews.

Our Research is Implementation Oriented: ETC Institute specializes in helping organizations use market research to make better decisions. During the past five years, the results of our market research have lead to more than $2 billion in funding initiatives by state, municipal and county governments as well as numerous educational and nonprofit organizations. Projects that have been funded include a wide range of community redevelopment projects, transportation initiatives, improvements to schools and health care institutions, water and electrical utility improvements, tourism attractions, neighborhood improvements, downtown revitalization projects, open space acquisition and park improvements, and the development of numerous specialized leisure facilities such as community centers, aquatic centers, and sports facilities.

Our Research Helps Community Leaders Balance the Needs of the General Public with Special Interest Groups. Special interest groups often dominate local-decision making processes because they actively participate in community meetings and share their ideas with local officials. While input from special interest groups is important, the needs of the general public can be overlooked if community leaders only have input from well organized groups and community activists. ETC Institute’s surveys are designed to ensure the needs of the entire community are represented.
