Holly Springs Celebrates Elite “Leading the Way Award” Recognition for Exceptional Service Delivery and Resident Satisfaction

Holly Springs has earned a spot among the top U.S. cities for its services to residents. At a recent Town Council meeting, the town received the “Leading the Way Award” from ETC Institute. This recognition comes from comparing resident satisfaction surveys nationwide, showing that Holly Springs is in the upper 10% for overall service quality, employee customer service, and the value residents see from local taxes and fees, according to the Holly Springs Town’s official website.

The award is a shared achievement for the Mayor, Town Council, Town Manager, and staff, as noted by Jason Morado, vice president and director of community research at ETC Institute. His praise, “This is an award that everyone should be proud of,” shows the wide range of commendable work being recognized. Holly Springs Town notably surpassed the national average by over 20% in 34 areas, including crime prevention, police response, fire safety education, and maintenance of public spaces.

Mayor Sean Mayefskie spoke about the town’s commitment to serving its residents. “Resident feedback about the quality of customer service from Town employees makes me so proud of how hard staff works to give our residents great service day in and day out,” he said. He credits part of this success to the new 311 service launched in Spring 2023, which has helped improve customer satisfaction. The Mayor also acknowledged the challenges that come with growth in Holly Springs Town.

The top 10% ranking reflects the positive public perception of various aspects of living in Holly Springs Town. Ratings were significantly higher than the national average for the effectiveness of the Police Department, response times to emergencies, and the quality of fire safety education programs. The town also received strong ratings for livability, especially as a place to live (+43%) and raise children (+32%).
