Overview

ETC Institute is a market research firm that was established nearly 40 years ago. We are the world leader in Transit Data Collection and we are looking for new college graduates to join our team for up to two years. The Field Supervisor (FS) position is key in ensuring the quality of our survey data, which has been used to improve public transportation for millions of people across the country. We will train you to manage surveyors and the data they collect.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Distribute and collect equipment and assignments daily
  • Supervise and monitor field staff using web-based tools
  • Trouble shoot issues in the field regarding technology and shift planning logistics
  • Communicate with Field Manager / Project Manager regarding any issues outstanding and work to resolve issues
  • “Owner” of data collection activities
  • Conduct daily data editing and quality control activities on data collected (visual review of trips and demographic distribution)
  • Producing week end summaries in terms of data collection and budget monitoring
  • Interact with the public on buses, trains, platforms and in other circumstances, while collecting surveys, as needed

Other tasks:

  • Creating daily assignments using tools provided and data needed
  • Reviewing preliminary programs to ensure that all variables are correctly collected (present and with correct code sets)
  • Monitoring and maintaining the completeness and quality of project database systems
  • Participating in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis
  • Other tasks as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of MS EXCEL (including using Pivot tables)
  • Experience with PowerBI is a plus
